Fillings and Bondings
Dental Fillings are extremely common! Even a regimented oral hygiene practice is often no match for tooth decay. Silver amalgam was traditionally used to fill small drilled holes, replacing decayed tooth. Luckily, there are now more aesthetically appealing materials available for fillings, allowing your dentist to match the filling color to the color of the natural tooth!
These aesthetically appealing fillings are called composite fillings, and are our typical recommendation to clients.

Fillings
White composite fillings are not necessarily white, but are created to match the exact color of your natural tooth, making it perfect fit for your shape, color and texture of your natural smile. The idea is that the filling blends in seamlessly with you natural tooth, giving you the most authentic look possible. Composite fillings require less drilling of the tooth than silver fillings, preserving as much natural tooth structure as possible and ensuring that your “new” tooth maintains it’s origins functionality and strength. The composite fillings also cause less frequent sensitivity to hot and cold, unlike the traditional silver amalgam fillings.
Your dentist will recommend which filling is the best option for your specific needs so that you can make an informed decision.
Dental Bondings:
Dental Bondings are great for minor aesthetic fixes such as chips, stains, and gaps. They aren’t typically utilized for full mouth remodel, where we would normally recommend the use of porcelain veneers. Bondings improve the overall look of your smile and correct minor defects.
Our specialists at Tijuana Dental are experts in creating beautiful, natural looking dental bonds that blend seamlessly with your natural teeth. They begin by roughening the surface of the tooth. They then use their expertise in dental artistry to fill over the etched tooth with a strong, composite material; matching color, texture and shape of your natural tooth. It’s an art form.
At Tijuana Dental, we are masters of the art of dental bonding.

Holistic dental specialists often recommend that any toxic, mercury filling be removed and replaced with non-toxic, white composite fillings for health purposes.
